Graffiti Workshop & Street Art Tour

Client: Upplev Botkyrka for Absolut Company

We had a great workshop with peoples from Absolut Company. Starting with one hour talk about streetart and graffiti in general, and the scene in Stockholm in particularly. Then some hands on spraying together before we met up at night for a StreetArt-walk in Stockholm, ending with some mysterious drink at the tours end station, Atlasmuren.

A giant Mastercard-card and a roller conveyor

Mission: Scenographer Fritjof Granström commisioned us to built some extraordinary attributes seen in this commercial for Preem. Those GIANT credit-cards were rather fun to walk down the street with, and that roller conveyor with glowing card came out beautiful!

Pimped WCs at Tellus Bio

We have recently pimped Kulturföreningen Tellus’s WCs. The mission was to have make wallpapers inspired by the 20′s, and this is the outcome.

The technique is stencils, 4 layers, with spray and I must say that this was the hardest stencyling ever!

Workshop with youths

We were invited by The Swedish Students Association‘s festival “Ung & Dum” to have a talk on the subject “Creativity” and a creative workshop in Gävle. 200 students were attending over the weekend to have loads of workshops and lectures on matters such as working against racism, changing the grownup’s often degrading views on youths and how to make youths more equal to adults.

Exhibition solution, Medecins Sans Frontieres

We did this story playing furniture for Medecins sans frontieres. It is now on display in Arlanda airport, Stockholm. If you are there you sit down at four stations and listen to five storys from volunteers working for MSF around the world.

The Sweater, Kronobergsgatan 33-ish

Antonín Jirát, The Sweater

A pattern of the picture for the wall of the house at Kronobergsgatan in Stockholm is the sweater which the aunt of my mother knitted for my father for Christmas 1978 according to his wish. This sweater began to be my favorite in my teens and I ruined it by everyday wearing. In 2006 I got an identical copy of it, then knitted by mother-in-law of my sister Ann. By creating the picture on the wall in Stockholm, I bring to the street a simplified natural motive of little dogs. I would like to tell the story itself to passers – by.

Antonín Jiráts during the artistic residence create a piece for the wall at Kronobergsgatan 33 in Stockholm. The residence is supported by Institute of Arts, Tjeckiska centret i Stockholm Kollektivet Livet in cooperation with The Embassy of Czech Republic the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
